Epic delayed its Disney Marvel and Star Wars shooter and told the team: no more hand-written code.

Bloomberg reports the unannounced extraction shooter, once aimed at March 2027, now has no new date after slow progress. An internal message ordered an "AI-first" pipeline on Anthropic's Claude, with art generated through "full AI workflows." Epic's Jake Jones said the company is "embracing AI-accelerated development," and CEO Tim Sweeney posted that Epic is retooling for "maximum AI acceleration."
